Bring back the smooth, quiet ride.

A bicycle can gradually lose its good feel: shifting gets hesitant, brakes need more lever travel, wheels develop a small wobble and the drivetrain collects the grit that accelerates wear. JW Bicycle Repair’s primary tune-up addresses the bicycle as a complete system.

What the tune-up includes

  • Cleaning of the entire bicycle
  • Thorough drivetrain cleaning
  • Brake adjustment as needed
  • Shifting adjustment as needed
  • Wheel truing as needed
  • Adjustment of wheel, hub and headset bearings as needed
  • Overall bicycle safety check

When possible, John evaluates the bicycle while you are at the shop so you can see what he sees, understand the priorities and receive an estimate before additional repairs are performed.

Parts and additional repairs

The $100 tune-up covers the complete service listed above. Necessary parts and the labor to install them cost extra. John will explain any additional work and provide an estimate before proceeding.

Tune-up or one specific repair?

Choose the complete tune-up when the bicycle needs cleaning and attention across several systems, especially after storage or a season of riding. If the only issue is a puncture, a damaged spoke or one noisy brake, John can evaluate that problem and explain whether a focused repair is enough.

A tune-up includes adjustments and a safety check; it does not include replacement parts or their installation labor. Worn components or damage may need additional work, which John will explain before proceeding.

Should I schedule before bringing the bike?

Calling or texting first is the best way to discuss current turnaround and plan the visit.

Is this appropriate for older bikes?

Yes, provided the bicycle can be repaired safely. John will explain any structural or safety concern discovered during inspection.
